If you are new to Sleek, or were thinking of picking up something new from them, this post should help you make up (pun intended) your mind as I will be sharing my opinions on some of their makeup I have in my collection.
I’ve have a number of drugstore makeup but I think Sleek is the best brand because even though they are relatively cheap, their products are of very high quality. From the packaging to the contents, most of their products can compare to higher end brands in my opinion. This review is broken down into products for the Face, Eyes and Lips. Enjoy!
I have used the New Skin Revive foundation for about a year now and I’m in the shade Sweet Honey. It cost me about £7 and its N2340 in Nigeria. It has a thick consistency which makes it harder to buff into the skin but I learnt how to work with it. It provides a light to medium coverage but doesn’t last very long, about a few hours. In summary, I would recommend this foundation if you are looking for a cheaper alternative to your high-end one. I wear it on days I’m not going anywhere serious but I always have my blotting tissues on hand.

It retails for about £4/ N1150. Now this product is rubbish! Just rubbish! I don’t know if I got the wrong shade or something but it doesn’t work for me at all. I tried to use it on my under eye circles and spots and it was a fail. It’s just laying in my makeup drawer now and comes out once in a while to clean up around my lipstick or my brows. Has any of you had any luck with this concealer?

I am the BIGGEST fan of their blushes because they are just beautiful. I am on a mission to acquire all the blushes they have ever made. They are highly pigmented, buildable, apply very nicely and last a very long time. At about £4/N1500 they are a total bargain. I would recommend Sleek blushes over MAC ones because at £17, I don’t think MAC blushes are worth the money. I have a few and they don’t do anything for me, the only advantage I’ll say MAC has is a wider range than Sleek. They recently released their “Blush by 3” palette which contains 3 blushes in one for about £10. I can’t wait to find them in Nigeria.
|Coral and Rose Gold|
|Scandalous, Flamingo and Sunrise|
Coral: This is my least favorite of their blushes because I have to really pack it on before I get any color on my cheeks. However I love it when I’m going for a natural look as it just tints my cheeks ever so slightly
Flamingo: This is a vibrant pink, which looks scary in the pan but looks gorgeous on the skin. I apply it with a light hand though, so if you get it, be careful to do so.
Rose Gold: This blush is the perfect blush for a night out or a wedding. It’s a beautiful pinkish blush with gold shimmer. It just makes my face glow whenever I wear it. I think it is the most famous of all their blushes and it is most deserving.
Scandalous: As the name suggests, this is quite a wild, deep red color. Don’t be taken aback though, it looks lovely on the skin. This is my favorite blush from Sleek and I think it will suit most skintones as long as you build it up to a level that is comfortable for you.
Sunrise: Sunrise is similar to rose gold but its slightly darker in color, almost brown. If you are not a fan of pink blushes, this will work for you as it is a more natural shade with a bit of shimmer.
When I say that this product has it’s own cult following, please believe me. It deserves all that and more. It contains contour powder and a highlighter and I have it in Medium. The contour powder (L) is the best, perfect shade to contour my face with. I tried to use the highlighter(R) once but it didn’t work for me, so I haven’t touched it since then. Another of their products that compares with other more expensive brands at around £7/N2000.
I have two of their many eyeshadow palettes which I enjoy using whenever I reach for them. They are inexpensive at about £7/ N2000 and are very pigmented. They are mineral eyeshadows therefore very rich and last for many hours without creasing. The only minor issue is that there tends to be a bit of fallout during application but that can be remedied by using shadow shields or brushing the fallout off with a fan brush. They come with applicator sponges which I find so useless, I throw them out as soon as I open the pack.
Bad Girl: This palette is the perfect one if you like smokey eyes and I love all the shades. It has a number of dark blues, dark greys, dark purples, dark greens and black that all reflect nicely to give off a shimmer effect. Perfect palette to smoke up your eyes with on a night out!
Original: I think this was the first palette they released. It comes in a range of beautiful colors that can work for day or night. I particularly like the coppery one (bottom row, third from left).
True Color Lipsticks
They come in a wide range of colors to chose from with different finishes. They apply nicely but I find that they don’t last a very long time so I have to keep re-applying. As such, I don’t reach for them as much as I reach for my MAC lipsticks but they are very pretty and moisturizing I must say. I bought them for around £6 and they sell for about N1200 locally.

Amethyst: This is one lipstick that you need in your party makeup collection. Its a deep purple lipstick with hints of gold. Very bold and vibrant, guaranteed to make your lips pop.
Baby Doll: A barbie pink that is a little too-barbie for me. Worn alone, it makes me look like a ghost, lol but I usually fill my lips with a dark pink lip liner before applying it. If you are very fair skinned, it might work better for you.
Coral Reef: This is a deep coral shade that’s very pigmented. A nice, everyday wearable color that I will definitely recommend.
These lip glosses are another winner with Sleek. They are of a very high quality yet dirt cheap. I definitely favor them over my MAC lip glosses because they are not gloopy at all, contain SPF15, smell gorgeous, are very pigmented and did I mention cheap? Cheap! Love these bad boys and need to get some more.

Whisper: A nice light pink shade that can be worn on its own or over any of your pink/nude lipsticks.
Pump it Up: It’s a vibrant purple shade, that I sometimes wear over Amethyst or MAC’s Up the Amp. I was looking for a purple lipgloss for the longest time before I found this one and it’s just perfect.
Do you guys have any other Sleek products that you love? Please share so I can work on getting my sticky paws on them too 🙂
