NOTW | Ice Ice Baby!

Hi Everyone,

Like I mentioned previously, I haven’t done a nail post in ages because my nails have been in TERRIBLE shape. I don’t know if it’s the weather or a hater of my long, beautiful nails at work but I have really been having a hard time growing them. I’ve taken the bull by the horn though and I’m furiously treating my nails hoping to restore them to past glory.

This week, I’m wearing a lovely nude nail polish I bought recently. I have been hunting for the perfect one forever and I think I may have found it!

Continuing in the new found love for all things Revlon, meet Iced Mocha, a gorgeous nudey-brown nail polish. I have nothing bad to say about it; the colour suits my skin tone perfectly, the brush is the perfect size so it applies perfectly and it dries really fast, even though it is not advertised as a quick-dry polish.

I love it like a fat kid loves burgers and totally recommend it. It also covers the nail completely in one coat but I applied two, for good measure. There are claims that the polishes are chip-resistant but we’ll have to see about that. Grabbed it in South Africa for about 30 rands but sells Revlon nail polishes for 750naira! Over in the Queen’s terrain it’s around 7pounds.

To end this post, here’s one of the products I’ve been using to try and build my nails back- Orly Tough Cookie Nail Strengthening treatment. I use it as a base coat and top coat and apply it about two times in the week. I’ll try it out for about a month and report back to you lovely people if I see any major improvements.

What nail treatments do you recommend? I’d love to try some other products 🙂

Peace and Love,

I think u should try the Sally Hansen Nail Growth Miracle Serum (I think i've seen it at Medplus once) as well as the Vaseline healthy Hand and Nail conditioning lotion (works wonders for me).

I used them religiously a while back and my nails drastically improved in length, look and strength.

But laziness came knocking and I succumbed to the lure of wrapping/fixing acrylic nails.

(In other news, I think you should do a post on the dangers of false nails-specifically that vile smelling liquid and powder stuff)

Once I take them out, (hopefully all my nails dont get weak and fall off),I'm back to my diligent mani-regimen

    Your blog rocks xxx
Spent the greater part of today going over your old posts. Have bookmarked a lot of pages

I absolutely love Revlon colours, I've tried so many nail varnishes and these are the best. They don't chip too bad with a top coat but obviously if you type and use your fingertips a lot then it will. The colours are beautiful – I haven't tried this one yet though. I'll have to look out for it 🙂
